Welcome to Ms Mali, an Australian-created children’s storybook world where everyday moments become meaningful little lessons.
Through gentle stories, lovable characters and the magic of Bakery Village, children can explore confidence, big feelings, friendship, kindness and what it means to grow into themselves, one story at a time.
It Started With One Little Girl
Ms Mali began with my granddaughter, Emaliyah Rose.
When she came into my life, I started thinking about the kind of things I wanted her to grow up knowing. To believe in herself, understand her feelings, be kind to others, keep trying when things felt hard, and always know there was something special about simply being herself.
I wanted to create something meaningful that she could grow with, but somewhere along the way, that little idea became much bigger.
One story became the beginning of Bakery Village, a colourful world filled with characters, everyday adventures and lessons little hearts can understand.
And from there came an even bigger dream: an A–Z collection of 26 stories, each exploring something meaningful about growing up.
What started with one little girl is now becoming a world created for many little hearts.
MEET RACHAEL
The Woman Behind Ms Mali
Long before there was Bakery Village, there was a real bakery life behind it.
I became a qualified pastry chef and baker at 19, and creativity has been part of my world ever since. Over the years, that grew into Rachael’s DesignaCake, where I’ve spent decades creating cakes and being part of the birthdays, celebrations and little moments that mean so much to families.
I’m also a mum and now a grandmother, and it was becoming Nanna to Emaliyah that sparked something completely new.
I began imagining a world that brought together so many pieces of my own life: family, baking, creativity and the little lessons we pass from one generation to the next.
That world became Bakery Village. And somewhere in the middle of it all, I became something I never expected to add to my story: a children’s author and the creator of Ms Mali.
For me, Ms Mali brings together where I’ve come from, who I love, and something meaningful I hope to leave behind.
An Alphabet Full of Stories to Discover
26 Letters. 26 Stories. One Growing World.
It began with A is for Attitude, but that was only the first little step.
Ms Mali is growing into an A–Z collection of 26 storybooks, with every letter opening the door to a new story, a meaningful theme and another adventure in Bakery Village.
From learning about attitude with Ms Mali and discovering what beautiful really means with Emmy, to building confidence with Christoph, every new book adds another piece to the world.
And with 26 letters to discover, there are plenty more stories still to come.
And We’re Only Just Beginning
The books may be where the stories begin, but Ms Mali was always imagined as SOMETHING BIGGER.

Bakery Village is continuing to grow with new characters to meet, new places to discover.
And more ways for children to become part of the world beyond the pages.

Through the Ms Mali Kids Club, activities and creative play, children can keep exploring Bakery Village in their own way,
bringing the stories into everyday moments at home.

And as each new book joins the A–Z collection, another little piece of the village comes to life.
There is so much more of Bakery Village still waiting to be discovered.
From My Family to Yours
When I first created Ms Mali, I never imagined where this little idea would lead.
It began with my family, and now every family who opens a Ms Mali book, enjoys an activity or discovers Bakery Village becomes part of its growing story.
I hope your child finds characters they love, conversations that continue beyond the pages and little moments you’ll remember together.
There is still so much of Bakery Village left to discover, and I’m so grateful your family gets to be part of the journey.
